RESUMO A acidez é um dos principais determinantes do sabor e qualidade dos frutos do meloeiro juntamente com açúcares e compostos voláteis. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a herança do potencial hidrogeniônico (pH) e da acidez titulável dos frutos do meloeiro. Foram avaliadas em um delineamento em blocos casualizados com três repetições as gerações F1, F2 e os retrocruzamentos (RC1 e RC2) a partir dos genitores Védrantais (Cucumis melo subsp. melo var. reticulatus), com alto pH e baixo teor acidez total titulável, e AC-16 (C. melo subsp. melo var acidulus), com baixo pH e elevado teor de acidez titulável. A herança do pH e da acidez titulável em melão são complexas e cada uma envolve um gene maior com efeitos aditivos e de dominância associado a poligenes com efeitos aditivos.

ABSTRACT Acidity is one of the main determinants of the taste and quality of melon fruit, together with sugars and volatile compounds. The aim of this study was to investigate the inheritance of hydrogen potential (pH) and titratable acidity in melon fruit. A randomized block design with three replications was used to evaluate the F1 and F2 generations and backcrosses (RC1 and RC2) of the Védrantais melon (Cucumis melo subsp. melo var. reticulatus) with high pH and low titratable acidity, and of the AC-16 melon (C. melo subsp. melo var acidulus), with low pH and high titratable acidity. Inheritance of pH and titratable acidity in the melon is complex, and each involves a major gene with additive and dominance effects associated with polygenes with additive effects.

Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar em que medida os procedimentos metodológicos de um estudo piloto são adequados para o desenvolvimento de uma pesquisa com foco no estímulo à criatividade de professores de alemão como língua estrangeira. O estudo piloto viabiliza a revisão das escolhas metodológicas, a avaliação da eficácia dos instrumentos e a adequação das fases previstas para a investigação proposta. Para a realização desse estudo, contou-se com a colaboração de três professores em formação no curso de Letras Alemão. Os materiais coletados incluem entrevistas semiestruturadas, relatos em áudio sobre as aulas ministradas (lautes Erinnern), relatos coletados durante um workshop e um encontro final para avaliação do percurso realizado. Como suporte teórico, as premissas da abordagem reflexiva são retomadas, contrapondo-as a demandas recentes. Após a análise dos procedimentos selecionados para incentivar a reflexão, conclui-se que as escolhas metodológicas foram adequadas e permitiram o levantamento de fatores determinantes para o delineamento da pesquisa oficial. Por meio dos instrumentos empregados, os professores em formação identificaram problemas, apontaram soluções e avaliaram as consequências de suas escolhas durante os relatos individuais e no planejamento colaborativo, gerando suas próprias teorias ao procurar compreender a prática.

Abstract This paper analyzes how the methodological procedures of a pilot study are used for the development of research focused on stimulating creativity of German as foreign language teachers. The pilot study enables the preparation for data collection, review of methodological choices, evaluation of instrument effectiveness and adequacy of the phases planned for research. The study was carried out in collaboration with three pre-service teachers of the Federal University of Santa Catarina of the German language course. The collected materials include: semi-structured interviews, audio reports recorded after class (lautes Erinnern), reports collected during a workshop and a final meeting to evaluate the course. As theoretical support, the premises of the reflective approach are reconsidered, opposing them to recent demands. Analysis of the selected procedures to encourage reflection shows that the methodological choices were adequate and allowed for establishing determinant factors for the design of the official research, such as the adequacy of the time required and the sequence of procedures provided for each step. The use of such instruments allowed teachers in training identified problems, pointed out solutions and evaluated their consequences during the individual reports and in the collaborative planning, revealing the importance of spaces such as this one for discussion and reflection on pedagogical practice.

Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the genotypic performance of twelve Piel de Sapo melon hybrids in the Mossoró-Assú agricultural region, state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, using mixed models. Adaptability and stability of the predicted genotypic values were studied by the Harmonic Mean of the Relative Performance of Genotypic Values (HMRPGV) procedure. The traits evaluated were yield (Mg ha-1) and soluble solids content (ºBrix). The genotype x environment interaction was significant for the two variables in all the hybrid groups evaluated, with predominance of the complex part of the interaction, and this makes the selection process more difficult. Considering the genotypic values predicted, the HMRPGV method allowed identification of hybrids with greater genotypic adaptability and stability. The experimental hybrids HP-09 and HP-06 were more promising for growing in the Mossoró-Assú agricultural region since they have high stability and adaptability, as well as high yield and soluble solids.

RESUMO O manejo do substrato e da adubação é imprescindível para garantir a formação de mudas de espécies florestais com qualidade e que tenham êxito no estabelecimento em campo, seja para fins de arborização urbana, recuperação de áreas degradadas, projetos de reflorestamento ou para fins madeireiros. Nesse sentido, objetivou-se avaliar o efeito da lavagem do pó de coco e a aplicação de doses crescentes de fertilizante de liberação controlada na produção de mudas de baraúna (Schinopsis brasiliensis Engler). O experimento foi conduzido no período de 30 de janeiro de 2015 a 04 de abril de 2015, em viveiro (50% de sombreamento) no Setor de Produção de Mudas do Centro de Referência para Recuperação de Áreas Degradadas da Caatinga (CRAD), Petrolina-PE. O delineamento experimental adotado foi inteiramente casualizado, com os tratamentos distribuídos em esquema fatorial 5 x 2, referentes a cinco doses do adubo Osmocote® (0,0; 4,5; 9,0; 13,5 e 18,0 kg m-3) e substrato lavado ou não lavado, com quatro repetições e 54 tubetes por parcela. Durante o experimento foram registrados a porcentagem de emergência (PE%) e o índice de velocidade de emergência (IVE). Ao final do experimento, foram determinados: altura de planta; número de folhas; diâmetro do caule; comprimento médio da maior raiz; área foliar; clorofila foliar; e massa seca da parte aérea e raiz. A alta salinidade no substrato pó de coco compromete o desenvolvimento inicial de mudas de baraúna, indicando-se a necessidade da lavagem do substrato para se realizar a produção de mudas. A lavagem do pó de coco em associação com fertilizante de liberação controlada proporciona mudas de melhor qualidade. As doses de adubo de liberação controlada influenciam positivamente o crescimento inicial das mudas de baraúna, incrementando todas as variáveis em estudo. O fertilizante de liberação controlada pode ser recomendado para a formação de mudas de baraúna, na dose de até 12,75 kg m-3.

ABSTRACT The management of the substrate and fertilization is essential to ensure the formation of forest species seedlings with quality and succeed in establishing in the field, either for the purpose of urban forestry, recuperation of degraded areas, reforestation projects or wood purposes. In this sense, the objective was to evaluate the effect of washed coconut coir fiber and increasing doses of controlled release fertilizer in producing seedlings of baraúna (Schinopsis brasiliensis Engler). The experiment was carried out from January 30, 2015 to April 4, 2015, in the nursery (50% shade) in the areas of Seedling Production at Reference Center for Recovery Degraded Areas of Caatinga (CRAD) at the Federal University of the São Francisco Valley (UNIVASF), Petrolina-PE. The experimental design was completely randomized, with treatments distributed in a 5x2 factorial arrangement for five doses of fertilizer Osmocote® (0.0; 4.5; 9.0; 13.5 e 18.0 kg m-3) and washed and non-washed substrate with four replications and 54 recipients per plot. During the experiment were recorded emergency percentage (% PE) and the emergence speed index (IVE). At the end of the experiment were determined theplant height; number of leaves; stem diameter; average length of roots; leaf area; leaf chlorophyll; and dry weight of shoot and root. The high salinity in the substrate coconut fiber compromises the initial development of baraúna seedlings, indicating the need of washing the substrate to produce seedlings. Washing coconut powder in association with the use of controlled release fertilizer promotes better quality seedlings. The doses of controlled release fertilizer positively influence the initial growth of baraúna seedlings, increasing all studied variables. The controlled release fertilizer can be recommended for the formation of baraúna seedlings at a dose of up to 12.75 kg m-3.

Neste artigo, apresentamos uma análise dos processos de diálogo e conflito cultural que influenciam a formação e o deslocamento de identidade das personagens no filme Bagdá Café. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é analisar o movimento identitário das personagens à luz das teorias culturais de Bakthin e Bhabha. Para tanto, buscamos identificar e descrever os conflitos de cunho cultural neste espaço, caracterizado pela mudança e fluidez.

In this article we present an analysis of the main characters in the film Bagdad Café focusing on dialogical processes and cultural conflicts which influence the identity formation and decentering of these characters. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the identity shift in these film characters relying on the works by Bakhtin and Bhabha in cultural theory. The aim is therefore to identify and describe conflicts in this cultural space that is characterised by change and fluidity.

INTRODUÇÃO: A obesidade é fator de risco para várias doenças. Estudos têm demonstrado que os polifenóis do chá verde auxiliam na perda de peso e interferem nos mecanismos de diversas doenças. A insulina, agindo por meio de seu receptor (IR), desencadeia uma série de respostas. A via IR/Shc é ligada ao crescimento celular e à mitogênese. OBJETIVOS: Estudar o efeito do chá verde no peso corporal e no teste de tolerância à glicose (GTT). No fígado, estudar a fosforilação do IR, a presença e a expressão de IR e Shc e suas alterações morfológicas. MATERIAL E MÉTODOS: Ratos Wistar, jovens e tratados com dieta hipercalórica ou dieta própria para ratos, foram submetidos a tratamento com chá verde. Para retirada do fígado, após anestesia, foi infundida insulina ou solução salina. Para avaliar o grau de fosforilação do IR, o fragmento foi homogeneizado e submetido a técnicas de imunoprecipitação e imunoblotting. Para análise morfológica, foi utilizada a técnica de coloração por hematoxilina e eosina e para localizar a presença de IR e Shc, técnica de imuno-histoquímica. RESULTADOS E CONCLUSÃO: Observamos diminuição do peso corporal e da esteatose no fígado e melhora no GTT. Houve aumento da fosforilação do IR no fígado dos animais obesos tratados com relação aos obesos não submetidos a tratamento. Verificaram-se lesões que poderiam ser associadas ao tratamento, como necrose focal. A análise imuno-histoquímica demonstrou presença de IR e Shc em todos os grupos estudados e sugeriu alterações na expressão de IR e Shc nos grupos obesos e obesos tratados.

INTRODUCTION: Obesity is a risk factor for several diseases. Studies have shown that polyphenols in green tea aid in weight loss and influence the mechanisms of several diseases. Insulin, acting through its receptor (IR), triggers a series of responses. IR/Shc pathway is linked to cell growth and mitogenesis. OBJECTIVES: To investigate the effect of green tea on body weight and on glucose tolerance test (GTT). To study IR phosphorylation, IR/Shc presence and expression and their morphological changes in the liver. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Young Wistar rats were fed with high-calorie diet or proper rat food diet and subsequently were treated with green tea. After anesthesia, insulin or saline solution was infused to remove the liver. A liver fragment was homogenized and underwent immunoprecipitation and immunoblotting in order to assess IR phosphorylation levels. Hematoxylin and eosin staining was applied for morphological analysis and immunohistochemistry was carried out to locate the presence of IR and Shc. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: It was observed a reduction in body weight and in liver steatosis as well as an improvement in GTT. There was also an increase in IR phosphorylation in treated animals in comparison with non-treated ones. Lesions such as focal necrosis were observed and may be associated with the treatment. The immunohistochemical analysis demonstrated the presence of IR and Shc in all groups and suggested changes in IR and Shc expression in both treated and non-treated groups.
